3-D Secure
3-D Secure is similar to Chip & PIN, which was implemented by Visa and MasterCard to help reduce fraudulent purchases by verifying purchaser identity during online transactions. The primary benefit of 3-D Secure is the shift of liability from the merchant to the credit card issuer on certain types of disputed online transactions. For the cardholder, 3-D Secure provides them with confidence that their card details are secure when purchasing over the internet. Both WorldPay and SecureTrading are fully 3-D Secure compliant across all acquirers.
Address Verification System (AVS)
Real time validation of AVS data enables you the merchant to check the cardholder’s billing address held by the issuing bank before dispatching the goods. This is valid only for UK orders.
